San Diego Health Connect can play an important role in helping your organization achieve Meaningful Use.
Our health information exchange (HIE) technology integrates with your electronic health record (EHR) to help you meet Meaningful Use Stage 1 and Stage 2 requirements.

Meaningful Use Stage 1 (2013-2014)
Simply by participating in San Diego Health Connect, you can attest to Meaningful Use in three key certification categories:
- Electronic lab reporting (eligible hospitals only)
- Immunization reporting
- Syndromic surveillance reporting to state registries
Meaningful Use Stage 2 (2014-2016)
Meaningful Use Stage 2 requires ongoing public health reporting. San Diego Health Connect delivers this functionality automatically. When your EHR system generates the appropriate HL7 standard message triggered by a reportable clinical event, our HIE automatically submits the data to public health registries.
